  • The MMTG was formed in 1971 for it's first production, Oliver! at the Majestic Cinema in Macclesfield, hence the name. The group continued to produce stage musicals until 1985 when it venture into it's other major stronghold, the annual Christmas Pantomime, with Dick Whittington.In 1991 the group ceebraed it's 21st birthday with a specia concert and in the following years assisted other organisations with charity and fund-raising productions. In November 1996, the group celebrated it's 25th anniversary & also in that year moved into it's permanent rehearsal home, the MMTG Studios.The MMTG studios are situated in Jodrell St, above 'Brookside Welding Supplies' being officially opened by the Mayor on 1st June 1997. They provide dance and main rehearsal studios as well as wardrobe, technical and administrative facilities.Main reharsals normally take place on Wednesda evenins with additional rehearsals on other evenings if required.The Social Sub-Committee provide rehearsal refreshents on Wednedsays and organse regular events, including, London weekends to see West End shows, treasure hunts, quiz nights, 10 pin bowlin, weekends in Anglesey and after show parties. Details of forthcoming social events and other news appear in the MMTG newsletter, which is published every month.The backstage departments, responsible for scenery, props, light & sound, costumes and publicity have their own workshops and facilities at the Studios.
