  • Mere Literary Festival week begins annually on the 2nd.Monday of October and raises money for the local Linkscheme charity. The week includes talks, book signing, literary quiz, writers' lunch and workshop and children's event. The finale of the week is Festival Sunday when winners of the annual writing competition are announced and prizes presented. The writing competition (poetry in odd years and short story in even years) opens in March with a closing date in July. Send s.a.e. for entry form and details to contact name as shown .
