  • These are among the few remaining traditional village events. The horticultural society has been staging them since the nineteen forties and there are records of combined villages shows being held here back at the beginning of the last century. There is much more to the Shows than the abundant flower classes. Vegetables, pot plants, patio containers, cut shrubs can be entered and there are a lot of classes for various homecrafts plus sections for children in three age groups. In other words, there is opportunity for everyone whatever their inclination. Entry in the Shows by adults requires membership of the Society but the subscription is quite nominal at �3 per year. However, children, any children, may enter the Show free of charge and there are cash prizes and trophies to be won! Showing is great fun and no one takes it too seriously - so why not have a go?
