  • I'm trying to research my family history and would be very grateful for any help discovering more about Horace and Eliza Simcoe (nee Anabel/Anable). I know for certain they were at 575 Chesterfield Road with the eldest of their seven girls, Mary and the youngest, Beryl and her two little girls. I believe Horace was a warehouseman at the Co-op in Meden Square and he died in 1953. The rest of the household moved to 22 Chesterfield Road North about 1956/57. Mary Simcoe worked at Boneham and Turner in Mansfield and Beryl was receptionist with doctors Wilson and MacNab who had surgeries on Chesterfield Road and also at Pleasley pit head. Another daughter, Anne, kept a shop at Pleasley Vale with her husband Joe. Any information gratefully received, especially from anyone with the family name Simcoe or Anabel.
