  • Volunteers Required
    We are looking for volunteers for our switchover advice points during the digital switchover to provide support and advice so people can make the switch from analogue to digital tv.
    If you would like to provide that support to your community you can be a volunteer at the advice points
    What are the switchover advice points
    The Switchover advice points are there to provide advice and guidance on the digital switchover for older, disabled and other potentially vulnerable people. The switchover advice points for your television region will be at the Temple Methodist Church in Taunton on the 24 & 25th March and at the Library in Taunton on the 7th & 8th April which is the day of and day after the digital switchover dates.
    Background to the community outreach programme
    The Digital Switchover Community Outreach Programme supports people who do not qualify for the government's Switchover Help Scheme, but who nevertheless need or would like some assistance or advice in making the switch from analogue to digital TV. The programme partners with voluntary and community organisations to support them during the digital switchover, enabling local organisations to support older, disabled and other potentially vulnerable people, by providing information and speakers for events or drop-ins, training volunteers and developing a network of support and advice to assist people making the switch to digital TV.
