  • The Orange Order has been a large part of Manchester's cultural heritage for over 200 years with 23 active Orange Lodges in existence in 1811. By 1830 over 77 Orange Lodges existed in Greater Manchester and Lancashire. The Orange Institution is one of the oldest organisations in Manchester that has been in constant existence since 1800.
    Orange Lodges grew in Oldham, Ashton, Chadderton, Middleton, Rochdale, Blackley, Collyhurst to name a few.
    Today two lodges are still going in Manchester, with members from all over Greater Manchester.
