  • Village of the Year 2011.

    Despite the best efforts of everyone involved in Lindsey’s bid to become Village of the Year 2011, we again came second. No shame in that, another five points and we would be celebrating; Tattingstone won with 171 points, Lindsey with 167 points, Hintlesham with 137 points, and Kersey with 133 points

    Just to give you some idea of the mountain we in Lindsey had to climb, the contest this year was open to villages of up to 500 on the Electoral Roll; Tattingstone has 451, Kersey 300, Hintlesham 482, and Lindsey 152. Not bad but it does make me wonder if a small village like ours will ever beat a much larger one.
