  • Plans are well under way in Stickney to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
    At a recent meeting it was decided that the following events will take place in the Community Centre.
    On May 31st in the afternoon the Thursday Club will hold a party for the over 60s and in the evening the Guides will have a Beetle Drive.
    On Friday 1st June there will be the usual cash bingo with the added attractionof a buffet supper.
    On Saturday 2nd June in the evening a family Ceilidh will take place in the Village Hall.
    On the afternoon of Sunday 3rd June there will be a fancy dress party for the children followed by a street party style tea outside co-hosted by the Community Committee and the Horbling Lane Residence Association, if you would like your child to come to the party please telephone 480802 to book a place, there will be no charge for admission.
    To help pay for these events a table top sale followed by a mini auction will be held on Saturday February 25th and a prize bingo on Saturday 3rd March, if you have anything you could donate for the sale or a prize for the bingo they would be most appreciated or to book a table Tel Sandra Boone 480802.
    During the weekend the village church will be open for tea and coffee and there will be various displays depicting the last 60 years.
    The parish council is also planning to hold a family fun day on Monday June 4th at the former Stickney Farm Park.
