  • A very friendly country pub situated just off the A39 between Street and Bridgwater, to find us turn down hill by the village war memorial.The Crown is a typical old fashioned pub reputed to be over 400 years old where the  flagstone floors, open log fire and beamed ceilings create a cosy and intimate feel, the food is genuinely homemade featuring the usual pub classics along with an interesting and individual specials board which changes on a weekly basis, the cask ales are varied and well kept usually featuring Butcombe Bitter and Sharps Doombar plus two other guest ales.The Sunday Carvery is extremely popular and although we can seat up to 100 people bookings are recommended.There is a newly refurbished function room available for weddings, parties and events of all kinds along with a traditional skittle alley, simple finger buffets to a table groaning banquet can be made to suit your individual requirements - outside catering and bar is also available.A large beer garden and car park compliments this wonderful country pub situated in a lovely polden hill village
