Further Description
  • Brook Barn Letcombe RegisBrook Barn has been awarded the coveted, ‘highly commended 5 Yellow Stars’ by the AA Guest Accommodation Scheme along with their egg cup and pie award for ‘very special breakfasts and dinners’ so you can be sure of a wonderful stay. Brook Barn is situated on the outskirts of a small, Oxfordshire village, 25 minutes from Oxford, 30 minutes from the Cotswolds and just over an hour from Bath, Cheltenham and London. The house is a jewel of a hideaway with its fabulous mix of traditional design, comfort and unique atmosphere. We have quiet rooms, an office, a games room and peaceful, beautifully decorated bedrooms. The house is set in over an acre of gardens which include an orchard, wild flower meadow and a beautiful chalk stream, with benches and chairs thoughtfully positioned for guests to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Oxfordshire countryside. For those who want to be more energetic there are various outdoor activities on offer including a walk along The Ridgeway which is nearby. Brook Barn is equipped to the highest standards and is a perfect respite for business travelers or holiday-makers alike, with the extra luxuries you would expect to find in a chic, boutique hotel. In this day and age of ‘credit crunch’ why not pay the price and enjoy the informality of a bed and breakfast while still experiencing all the advantages of a classy hotel?  Brook Barn, up until a few years ago, was two barns incorporating stables, bull pen and a hayloft. It has been converted into a stunning family home retaining many of the original beams. The sitting room has a double height ceiling with large French windows that open up onto a ‘Mediterranean’ garden on one side and out to Letcombe Brook on the other. In the summer, with all the doors open, the sitting room becomes part of the garden. Equally inviting in winter, the huge fireplace and the underfloor heating make it a wonderfully cosy room to sit in and relax. The library is on the first floor and looks out over the sitting room. It is a fabulous area where you can hide yourself away to read magazines, the papers or a good book.  The rooms are beautifully but simply decorated and extremely comfortable with Egyptian cotton linen and towels, televisions with Freeview and CD/DVD player. The office facilities are comprehensive with fax machine, printer, copier/scanner and computer for our guests’ use and WiFi throughout the house. The garden has the stunning Letcombe Brook running through it and is the perfect place for that early evening drink or a peaceful wander before breakfast or dinner. Soak away all your aches and pains in the hot tub which you will find in the ‘Mediterranean’ garden – one of our favourite areas!  It really doesn’t matter if you are staying at Brook Barn for one night on your way to a business meeting or whether you are wanting a few days away from it all – Brook Barn is the perfect venue for all your social or business needs. Brook Barn has been created by Sarah-Jane and Mark Ashman. Sarah-Jane has run many a country house and a few years ago joined Mark on his luxury charter yacht, both of them entertaining guests and cooking delicious meals in a very small galley. "We have been in the service industry for the last ten years and know what is important to our guests: cleanliness, friendliness, efficiency, an atmosphere which makes you feel immediately at home, delicious food and a break from the hurly burly of everyday life". What Our Guests Say Half of me wants to tell the whole world how fantastic Brook Barn is and half of me wants to keep this our secret – Charlie and Caroline A hidden gem soon to be the crown of all b + bs – Joshua and Celeste Charming, unique and full of character ….will be back for some country cycling in the winter – Karan and Tej&nb
