This means you can decide how long you want to come. You can start with your first session and take it from there. Many come for 6-12 sessions; some come for 1-2 sessions, others for 1-2 years. Some common reasons one may decide to seek counselling are: Self-exploration, Lack of direction, Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement, Loss, Loneliness, Suicidal thoughts, Financial pressure, Psychosomatic problems, Fear of Death or Dying of self or another, other Fears, Stress, Phobias, Insomnia, Lack of confidence, Low self-esteem, Relationship difficulties, issues to do with Sexuality: Identity crisis, Gay/Lesbian issues, Trans-sexuality.Paula may visit patients requiring counselling with progressive cancer, other terminal illness, those in palliative care.Paula was a Samaritan listener for 5 years, listening to individuals in a personal crisis, and worked for a voluntary organisation providing professional counselling for young people since 2005. She has a Batchelor of Science Honours Degree (Second Class, First Division) in Integrative Counselling, achieved at Roehampton University, London in 2007. She has a varied life experience of her own which helps her to empathise with the difficulties of others.
