I have one source that says the Singletary original ancestor to America came from England and his parents were the following:****Father: Francis Singletary**Born: 1559 in SURFLEET~ LINCOLNSHIRE~ ENG.**Died: 1617 in SURFLEET~ LINCOLNSHIRE~ ENG.****Mother: Agnes**Born: 1563**Died: WFT Est. 1597-1662 in SURFLEET~ LINCOLNSHIRE~ ENG.****Their son Richard (we think) was the first Singletary in America and is our many great grandfather. Does anyone in Surfleet area ever hear of a Singletary or Singeltary surname and/or know where the reported grave stones might be? ****Another source says Richard's real last name was Dunham and he was the lost heir to the Dunham estate (nurse put him at age 11 secretely on board a ship bound for America to keep him from being killed and changed his name to "Single"Tary" upon arrival in Boston in early 1600's). Does this old estate exist in or near the same village?

I recently found an old purse in a charity shop in the grafton centre in Cambridge~ CambsIt contains several old photos and notes and I can only imagine that the elderly lady who owned it has passed away and the purse has been discarded by mistake. amongst the photos are: 1. photo of 2 elderly ladies.... one dark~ one grey/white with glasses~ with younger dark woman~ Compton Acres~ 30th birthday~ 1976 2.press clipping of Riverside estate ALEXANDRIA~ Scotland re funfair causing old folks home misery 3. Letter to dairymen asking for cooperation over milk bottle fillers 4.photo of 2 older ladies~ same as in pic 1~ marked Bournemouth~ May 1976 5. card from the shore~ Millisle~ from Joan and Timmy 6. pic of 3 children~ boy and 2 older girls~ all dark-ish and under 8 years at a guess~ June 1976 7. diary page~ Oct 1965~ speaking of TOM DAVIDSON~ CAROLINE(Daughter?). 8. pic of youngsters in Douglas IOM~ 1931 9. pic of dark haired young woman~ aged approx 20+~ marked G KEARNEY~ 21st July 1935 10.professionally taken pic of MISS M KIRTON~ Douglas IOM~ Sept 1923~ (pretty dark haired young woman about 20 years old) 11.Pic of 2 young women~ both dark haired~ BARCLAYS ROCK~ 1935 12. hand painted picture of a rose~ marked V M BARCLAY~ May 1928 These are a few of the items discovered... the rest carry no details.
