Hi Heidi I am aware of a William COOK marrying an Elizabeth HEMMING and having a daughter Emma in 1840 in Ipsley, which is around the corner from Studley. (About 2 miles.) I think William dies off since Elizabeth later marries Jonathan Kilby HANDS. Mike

Hi Alice,
There is an Elvins buried at Morton Bagot church. Sorry, I don't have the details.
I live on a farm which was formerly the Common at Morton Bagot until Studley Castle enclosed the land forcing the residents to leave. Prior to this there were Elvins living there grazing their animals and they might well have been your ancestors. The Common was enclosed in 1805 so they may then have moved to Studley.

Hi Kevin, I have screened the 1851 census transcription by BMSGH, with no luck. Also had a quick look at the 1911 with no joy. I think you need to try a high scale Ordnance Survey map, 1920-1938. I shouldn't think any maps would have been published during the war time! Mike
