My ancestor~ Mr John West~ willed the Blacksmith Arms in Tiddington~ (now The Fox)~ to his daughters Rebecca and Penelope~ although the licensee~ i.e. tennant~ was a Mr Thomas Kent. The girls sold their ownership and Rebecca & husband John Windover moved to the Isle of Wight. Any details regarding the history of the pub~ which later changed its name to the Fleur de Lys~ or the West family of Long Crendon~ would be appreciated.

I am looking for information about Sarah born in Great Hasely approx 1825. She married James Allen of Bledlow Ridge. I think her surname might begin with B. I know this is very vague~ but any help would be appreciated. I don't know where or when they married yet. Thanks****Rachel

Hello Anne
I have just been checking the Little Milton site as we are visiting the village at the end of the month to inter my Mum's ashes - she died in January. I am Janet Carpenter and I submitted an article for the website. I have just read your very interesting article on the site about your family in Little Milton. I have been collecting historical information on the Village which perhaps one day may be put into a book and was so interested to hear of a family who go back so far in the village. My grandparents lived next door to Connie Pittam when they retired to the village in 1965. I am very interested to know where the well was in Blenheim lane. Also who else was living in the cottages at Blenheim at the top and bottom at the same time as your family. It is not always easy to tell from the Census records which houses people live in. I have a contact in the Cooper family who is researching the Pittams who lived in the village.
Looking forward to hearing from you

Does anyone know of a Richard Turvey~ born 1820 in Tiddington Oxfordshire. I don't know who his parents were or if he had any siblings. He married Elizabeth Edwards of Snitterfield~ Stratford on Avon~ Warwickshire in 1867. He was my Gr Gr Grandfather. I have tried to trace him~ with no luck so far. I would be grateful of any help.

Hi there all Wheatleyites.I was born here in 1942 & lived in The Avenue.I called into the archives centre in 2007 &was very impressed with the work that has been done.**I have lived in Australia since 1969 & it was good to see my old home again.Unfortunately progress takes over & all the barley fields of my young days are now housing.**Never-the-less I still have many pleasant memories of my childhood there.

I have recently received documents pertaining to my childhood spent in and **around the Oxford area. I was an evacuee child and believe I resided at a farm **in the Toot Balden area run by a family called Salegmans or **something similar. One of the documents is from a Mrs Wrighteson~ Manor **House~ Horspath. I would appreciate any information concerning anything **known about this lady or of the farm or of the people running the farm at the **time.****Thank You.

Hi George. Although sadly I cannot be of any help to yourself, you maybe able to help me a tiny bit. I am in need of some help and assistance. I am a military historian and a member of group that documents and gathers information on military sites long since forgotten. I have just moved into Horspath village and it came to my attention purely by luck really that there used to be a 2nd World War Prisoner of War camp located near by. My problem lies here however, I am unable to find anything more than that it existed somewhere. Do you remember a PoW camp at all. (In many circumstances children living around the village at the time would visit the camps and heckle PoWs, these can prove valuable to us now. Some amusing chants would catch on like "Musso is Wop! He's a bigga da Flop") I know this is a long shot, but I'm getting desperate to locate the camp now. Hope you dont mind. Best regards, Dan
