Hello, I am trying to trace my grandfathers family who I believe come from Woore and PipeGate. He was George Henry Jones known as Harry. His brother was Arthur Ernest Jones who was married to Edna and had 2 children Hilary and John. John had the butchers shop in Woore oppersite the pub. I believe he was also the policeman. I would love to hear from anyone who knows of Hilary or John or their families please email me. Thank you Tx

  First of all Tish, what area are you from? I live in Devon UK but am a native of Woore. Edna Jones was my old dinner lady at school in Woore. I knew her well but unfortunately she died must be about 5 years ago now. I never knew Arthur her husband. Her son John was a Staffordshire Police Officer (I am a retired Police Officer as well). He went into the butchery business and worked at Reg Martin's butchers at Woore. John is also deceased. He married Reg's daughter Christine. John's sister Hilary still resides in Woore and I know her well. She is married to Derek Bailey and they live in a cottage next to Woore Manor House. My 4 x Great Grandparents were Abraham & Harriot Rowley**(maiden name unknown). They lived in Holborn/Marylebone London in 1801 but research traces Abraham back to Nantwich Cheshire. Their only child William emigrated to Sydney NSW Australia in 1838 but I cannot find any more information re Abraham & Harriot. A Harriot Rowley died at Wrenbury in 1846. Can anybody help me with information please? ****Beverley (Rowley).****

Looking for details of Johnson Coe (Coe being the surname).He was born in Aston~ Cheshire~ circa 1786-87. He may be the brother of my great~ great~ great grandfather whose name I do not know.****I also do not know if Johonson was an elder brother or younger.****My research is into the Coe family who lived in Northwich throughout the 1800's~ although there is a Manchester connection which is where my great grandfather was born in 1848 (Charles Coe) Charles's father was William Coe who married a Mary Beech (date and place unknown). It is William's father that I am trying to trace.****William was a blacksmith

• Dear Ronald, thank you so much for replying to my request. I was in Audlem 2 weeks ago hoping to find some info on my Broomfield family to no avail! I have since returned to Australia.You appear to be the only Broomfield on the internet that can confirm John had a son, George. According to Census George did not appear until 1861 when he was married to Sarah Phillips, living in Silverdale and had 4 children ie: Thomas Phillips Broomfield(stepson),Jane Phillips Broomfield, daughter, Henry Lee Broomfield and Joseph Broomfield (sons). Any information you could send me would be wonderful for all my Broomfield relatives including my 88yr old Uncle. My GG Grandfather was George Forster/Foster born 1799 Wrenbury. In 1841 his census entry showed his address to be 27 Woolfall (?what this is or where). George is being elusive genealogy wise and I am really stuck. I would be grateful for any help. He died in 1882 in Stapeley where he had been living with his son William in London Road. George married Ann Cadman from Acton b 1803 on 1.4.1823. I suspect they married at St. Margarets Church~ Wrenbury. There is no entry on the Cheshire Parish Record site however for either of them. I am looking for information about the HALL family.**William Hall was Christened at Audlem in 1752.**He died and was buried at Audlem in 1816.**I believe that he had a son Thomas Hall 1784 who married an Elizabeth Dooler.**Who were William's parents ?**Can anyone help me with my search~ please?**Pam.******

My family history research has lead me to the village of Wybunbury (which I gather is not pronounced that way at all!). The local family I am interested in are the Fosters (and the Cadmans in that one of them married a Foster).****The names I am interested in are:****George Foster b 1799 - married - Ann Cadman b 1803(from Acton)on 1.4.1823****One of their several children was also George Foster b 1840 who joined the Royal Marine Light Infantry and served from 1860 - 1881. He married Mary Ann Rowland b 1849 in the Cape of Good Hope (father worked on a Prison Ship in Cape Colony) and eventually lived in Chingford~ Essex. ****George and Mary Ann also had several children - 10 I believe. Their 4th Child was William Foster who became rather a war hero gaining a GC~ MC~ DCM and has been written about.****I would be interested to learn more of this family~ in particularly George Foster (the elder b 1799's parents names and where they came from or whether they were local).**One of George Foster b 1799's children married Vernon Steele and another John Barnett - John Barnett was from Hatherstone and a farmer.****Many thanks for any information that can be provided.****Sue Cassidy
