I am looking to find out any information that I can on my family. My grandfather George Stevens was born in Stockingford and his mother Alice Stevens in Hartshill (although I can find no record of her birth). She was the daughter of Henry and Hannah Stevens who lived in Grove Road Stockingford back in 1911. If anyone out there has a connection to this family I would very interested to hear from them.****Regards**Sarah Green

Hello all~**I am a descendant of the Allcott family~ and I know many of them lived in Hurley in the 1800~s. My grandfather was called Edward Allcott and was born in 1844. He seemed to have had quite a large family and I am trying to trace any of them. I do believe that they were buried in or near Hurley and if any one is able to help me with this~ I would be forever grateful!! I have tried searching for cemeteries in the area but have come up with nothing. As I live in Australia I am unable to visit personally. Hoping for some information to help me on my way.****Many thanks****Joan McEwan

G R E E T I N G S F R O M F L O R I D A U S A****We are so happy to find a contact in Higham-on-the-Hill. Hinckley~ Stoke **Golding~ and Hinckley**So glad we found how to send a message to your messageboards. ****The entire Methodist Circuit was so hospitable to the World Methodist Clergy **Exchange last winter. We had a great time and still have so much gratitude in **our hearts for all we learned~ and for the brilliant hospitality of all the **good people of the Churches of the Hinckley Circuit and of the Congregations of **the Church of England of Hinckley and Higham-on-the-Hill. ****We miss you all and wish we could be there to go carolling with you again this **year. It was 85 degrees here today. Sunny and does not look like winter except **for the many decorations and twinkling Christmas lights.****The roads are clogged with the tourists who once again are here in Florida by **the thousands. Wish we could **have been there.****They are the very best hosts anyone could have.**The many who welcomed us into their homes taught us much about gardening~ great **cooking~ fresh vegetables~ and the beautiful way they prepare such delicious **meals there.****Eveline Overton and her husband were great hosts~ too.**We were in so many homes~ with such lovely people of great faith.**It humbles us to recall the generous nature of all the people there in that **region of England. The Midlands.**We enjoyed so much the people of the Higham-on-the-Hill Methodist and also the **Church of England located there in the lovely Village.** **What good and beautiful people joined in singing Carols on at Christmas time. **We wish we could join them again this year but we are here in Florida~ USA **getting ready for Christmas here.** **We miss all of you.**Please give our best regards to Dr. Michael and Ursula Cox and the good people **of the Churches of Higham-on-the-Hill.** **So wish we could go carolling again with the group.** **We value so highly the book written by Dr. Cox on Higham-on-the-Hill. ** **We have had our Presidential election and realize that many of England do not **understand the mind/thinking of we here in America.
