James Timbrell born about 1807 in Guiting Power. Parents shown as John and Ann Timbrell. Have not been able to find any details of Ann.**Someone suggested that Ann was really Mary~ mother to William and Thomas Timbrell. Does anyone have any idea? James moved to Alderton and married Harriet Stallard. They had quite a few children~ Paul (my gtgrandfather) being one of them.

Hello~**I am looking into the background of my husband's family who live or lived in Turkdean. I know that a Reuben Dutton came to South Shields with a Jane Hodge in 1874 and were married here. I am interested in any information about his parents~ William and Anne. According to the 1841 census they lived in Front Street in Turkdean.**Many thanks.

Looking for information about my great great grandfther (John Hooper) who I believe was born in Shipton/Turkdean about 1812/1820 and his son Emmanuel Hooper born 1844/45 in Shipton/Turkdean. John believed to be a tailor and his on a shepherd/labourer. I understand from later censuses that they both moved around a lot especially towards oxfordshire! any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have spent time looking around my old childhood places in the UK I was brought up by Herbert and Ada Day...Herbert was the local Cotswold Stone Builder and did many of the large old houses and the farm cottages up...I used to love going in and seeing the things he found when removing the walls etc...I wonder if there are any of my friends from the village of Calcot out there or people that remember Herbert and the Coln Valley Cricket Club...Love to hear from you~ Dorothy South Australia
