I have in my genealogy a family for George Hulme and Sarah (Partington), all born at Wilmslow Cheshire between the years 1774 and 1784. Children are Daniel, Habakuk, Sarah, George, Jane and John. Daniel Hulme married to Ellen Robinson in Gawsworth 1827. I have more information about the descendants of this family down from Daniel and Ellen.

Visited UK for very first time in August~ I had a great adventure in all the area's I visited~ Manchester~ Stockport~ Macclesfield~ and Fairfield. Researching my Family History on the Roylance's who lived in Stockport~ if anyone is familiar with this family please let me know~ (Ok~ there were many) we may have a connection.. so far I've got Peter and Ellen Lee-Roylance (3rd GGParents) Married at St. Mary's Parish August 1803 in Stockport and William and Elizabeth Birch-Roylance (4thGGParents) Married in Manchester Cathedral 1786. Any known relatives are encouraged to contact me. Peter's son Joseph and Family (2nd GGFather) Immigrated to the states in 1864~ we are the Roylance's of the U.S. East Coast. Joseph left a Sister in Stockport who married a James Grimshaw her name was Eliza.

  jan mere was jean meredith she painted birds as i recall,her son was my pal thru school into the 70's fromlate 60,s. i last had contact with them about 1977 i think they moved from timperley around that time.
  i should imagine jean to be in her late 70's now maybe her married name was brook.hope that helps

I live in Australia and I'm trying to identify a soldier who was killed in the First World War whose service medals I have purchased.He is listed as having been born in Northenden ~ Lancs.I have no date unfortunately ~ but it would almost certainly be berween 1876 and 1898. In reply to Sandi (school in Timperley opposite Battman nursery on Deansgate Lane)****The school in question was St Andrews Primary School which closed in the mid 1980s and was replaced by a small development of 4 houses which front St Andrews Avenue.****The Battman nursery closed in June 2008 and planning permission has been granted for a children's nursery~ medical centre and large nursing home. Work has yet to start although this may be down to the current economic situation. The Gardeners Arms pub is still there and just about trading.****The Battman family still own the houses either side of the former Battman nursery****Hope this proves of use

Researching my Hammond ancestors. John Hammond was born 1738 Ropsley~ **Lincolnshire. Childrens names included Thomas~ William~ John~ Christopher~ **Mathew~ Mary. By the 1800's some family members started to move around and **outside of Lincolnshire. The 1901 Census gives a Christopher Hammond born **Ropsley but residing Stockport~ Cheshire. I have found reference for a birth **1905 also Christopher and wonder if any descendants may still be residing in **the area. My own great grandfather Christopher Hammond born Heighington~ **Lincolnshire 1858 emigrated to New Zealand 1879. I have found another **Christopher born 1820 with living descendants in Lincolnshire & Lancashire. I **am doing extensive research for a book so if anyone thinks they may be related **or have some information no matter how great or small it would be much **appreciated.
