I would much appreciate hearing from anyone who might have any knowledge of the Long Ashton Police Station in about 1900-1901. My grandfather was a young police constable and based there briefly at the time. I would like to learn something about the village at that time. Also, is there anyone who might know anything about local blacksmiths at the same period, especially associated with Bower Ashton. I am particularly interested in Mr Harris who, in the 1901 Census, is described as a "retired blacksmith". My grandfather was boarding with Mr and Mrs Harris at the time the Census weas taken. I am looking for the family of John Webb born~1809/10 Nailsea in the Parish of Christchurch. **Occupation~ Brickmaker.He married a Matilda Cambridge of Marshfild~ Gloucester~ born 1812/3. **They had a son called William who married a girl called Mary Ann Mills from Cromhall 7 May 1865 in LLanhilaith~ Monmouthshire. I am a Canadian looking for information about my Aunt~ Phyllis Binding~ who was born in Long Ashton in 1909 (July~ Augsut~ or September). She died as a small child~before my grandparents moved to Canada in 1912. I would like to know the names of my great grandparents. My grandparents were Emily Broomfield and James Binding. I am researching my family history The HIPPISLEY's (there are various spellings) all seemed to come from the Yatton area. If anyone can help me with any information I would be truly grateful. I have some information dating back to the late 1700's but am more interested in finding out how and where they lived rather than ammassing a list of names. One address I have is ROCK HOUSE. Still trying to find details on Pauline and Mark Gardener (mother & son) who used to live in Southlands Way. Lost contact in 1995. They used to have a dachshund called Solstice. Do you know them or do you know anyone who did?

Believe Mark worked for some sort of Recording Studio in Yatton or Wrington. Lost contact with them around the end of 1994 beginning of 1995. Would love to hear how they are.
