My G G Granddad John Ward was born circa 1804, in we believe Roydon, he married an Eliza from Great Parndon and apparently live at The Fox latter The Fox and Goose. They had a son Frederick ward born 1855/6 who became my G Granddad.
I would be grateful if any one knows of, The Fox.or why they would be living there as he is noted as an Agricultural Labourer in the censuses.

My husbands g.g.g.g grandparents were John & Eliza Goodman.living at Westmill Rd. Ware. The 1841 census shows 10 children~among them Hannah who is my husbands g.g.g.grandmother. Hannah's brother Ephram~ emigrated to U.S.A~with young family in 1856. The othe names on the census are~Daniel b.1829~Easter b.1831~John b.1825~ Joseph b.1834~Rebecca b.1837~Simon b.1840 Benjm b.1836 & Stephen b.1833. I would be interested to hear if any decendants still live in the ware area~any info on the family would be appreciated Liz

I used to live in Much Hadham High street In "The Rose & Crown" pub in the 1950's. I was taken there today as a birthday suprise 30/11/2008 and i was quite emotional~ it brought back alot of lovely memories. I am searching for ancestors Lovell Augustus REEVE (1814-1865) and his wife **Martha REEVE.
