My 4th Gt. Grandfather John PEARSON was probably born in Dickleburgh around the begining of the 18th Century. His father was also a John and died before 1768 [I have a copy of his Will dated 28.4.1767 which also mentions Peter PEARSON & Grandson Thomas RODWELL]. 4th Gt. G. John married Sarah PRICKE 23.7.1745 at Sudbury~ Sfk. I have a copy of a Settlement Cert that shows that John & Sarah settled in Long Melford~ Sfk from Dickleburgh. Can anyone help with dates of B~ M & Deaths - any info about this family.

Seeking information on William Smith~ Parish Clerk at Athelington in 1840s and his father~ Zachariah Smith~ married to Elizabeth (maiden name unknown)~ both living at The Grove~ or Grove Farm~ Athelington. William was married to Maria Walne (Warne) at Horham Baptist Church in 184l. Maria's mother was Harriet Aldous of Stradbroke and her father was Jonathan Walne~ born in Wingfield about 1790. Any information on the above would be very gratefully received. I live in Devon so unable to visit Suffolk as often I wish.

Susan married James Church in 1830 and they had 4 Children.They lived in Cock St. One of Elizabeth's children Samuel b 1849 was a Brushmaker~a musician in the Town band and a member of the first council in Diss.**I am hoping to visit Diss in May .

I am a descendant of John STILES & Mary WHARTON who moved from Thrandeston Suffolk with their family arounf 1790 down to Islington London~ because of the depression in the East Anglia area~ because of the Industrial Revolution. ****Below are the detaila of John Stiles They also lived in Wrotham nearby.****Descendants of John Stiles****John Stiles 1761 - 1832 d: 1832 in Islington London England b: 1761 in Thrandeston Suffolk England. +Mary Wharton 1760 - 1836 m: 1781 in Thrandeston Suffolk England d: 1836 in Parsonage Green Roydon Norfolk b: 1760 in Thrandeston Suffolk England****Mary STILES~ nee Wharton died in Roydon~ I suspect that she moved back to Suffolk after the death of John to be with her family. John had 17 children~ but I cannot believe that May had them~ possible he may have had a secound wife called Mary COPPIN.****I look forward for feedback****

Hello~ **We are researching the Battle family~ who emigrated to Australia in 1852. We have tracked our family back to an Edmund Battle from Campsey Ash~ who married Rebecca Davy from Syleham~ she was born 12/10/1824~ her parents were Thomas & Sarah Davy. We are really keen to learn Edmunds true lineage as we are visiting the UK at the end of the month and would love to visit the area of my husband?s ancestor ? we?re just not sure which ancestor beyond Edmund is the one to focus on! Edmund married Rebecca Davy and they had 2 children~ Ephraim & Sarah~ in England before emigrating to Australia~ though little Sarah died on the way. The ship was the Java (the smaller~ German one).We have quite a few sources of facts/figures if you are interested. Or if you could direct us to where we might find some more information~ it would be much appreciated. Edmund went on to found quite a dynasty of Battles in Australia~ many of whom were quite prominent in the pioneering of this country and quite entrepreneurial (and still are). So it would be nice to see where all this came from. Charles Haward of Flixton married Sarah Tippell at Stuston 02/06/1815 is this the same Charles Haward who later married Maria Pratt 27/03/1826 at Needham Norfolk and presumably as a result of the death of Sarah
