Hello - I am looking for any information on a Peregrine Emmitt~ who was buried at St Andrew's Church~ Sausthorpe~ in September 1826. He is thought to be a direct ancestor of my Father Walter Greaves Emmitt who lived in Hull.

Apparently my 1st post was too long. Here is the rest of the paragraph:
highwaymen. He lived at Partney, in the house now known as the rectory, but died at Sausthorpe, where he owned a considerable property, in 1826, aged 94. He is buried in the churchyard there. Having no children of his own 142 History of Partney. he left his large fortune to the children of Mr. William Banes, who had married his sister, on condition that they took the name and arms of Emmitt.
(BTW, I live in the US, not the UK, but I couldn't register unless I chose an English town. And I did want to share this info with you)

I found the following information while looking for a different Peregrine Emmitt. It does seem to be the one you're seeking. I don't know if it will help you but thought it was worth a try:

"Historical notes on the parish of Partney, Lincolnshire"
In 1790 Peregrine Emmitt had become still more important, and was assessed at ^336. He was a very famous farmer in his time, bought and sold an enormous quantity of stock and occupied a very large acreage in other parishes besides Partney. In those days all the meat sold in London had to walk there, and it was an important question for buvers which class of animal could travel best to Smithfield. Mr. Emmitt always rode to London to superintend the sale of the stock he had bought in the Partney neighbourhood, and returned home with the money in his pocket. Many stories are still remembered of his narrow escapes from highwaymen. He

I am searching for any infomation on the 'Brooks' family. I have determined that WILLIAM~ born about 1833 in East Kirkby~ Lincs~ was married to Elisa~ also born about 1833 but in Old Bollingbrooke~ Lincs. They had 5 children: Charles b.1858~ Henry b.1862~ Emma b.1863~ William b.1864~ John George b.1868. Oddly~ John G also married an 'Eliza'~ in about 1889. John G moved to Aston Road in Notting Hill and is listed in the 1901 census as a 'cycle maker'. I think he may have made a cycle from cane??!! Any info on the family and John G's business would be most welcome. Best regards and thank you for your time..

Looking for information or contacts for family of Mark and Mary Bush of Scremby whose son Thomas was born 1828 and came to Australia in the early 1850's. I believe Mary's maiden name was Brockelsby.
