I am trying to trace the white family of Hett Mill George and Sarah (nee Anderson)
lived Hett Mill in 1901 with their children,some born Hett Mill. one merrington lane
some born Lancashire, Also John White from Poole Yorkshire and Elizabeth from Barnard Castle Durham their children George 1845 Mary A 1859 Elizabeth 1849. Would appreciate any help.

I am looking for information for Arthur Thomas Houfe married Eliza Tweddall 1900 @ Thirsk, had one child there then moved into Bishop Auckland where rest of children where born. Eliza died 1926. I believe the same Arthur T Houfe remarried to a Margaret Knaggs 1926 @ Darlington can anyone confirm this please? They lived Shildon & Heighington areas. Are you researching same families or heard the story that Arthur might have been born in Germany? Did this Arthur reside at Bay Tree Road, Darlington?

My Great Great Grandfather was Isaac Wainwright and he was a miner. He died of enteric fever on 30 10 1880 at 47 Metal Bridge Ferryhill. I would like to know where he is buried please. He was married to Hannah Davis and they had a daughter Mary born on 18 06 1879. His mother in law Ellen Davis was with him when he died and her husband Charles was also a miner. I would be very grateful for any help you could give me or any advice on where to look.

I have strong links to Coxhoe from my maternal side. My maternal Grandparents are both buried in St Marys graveyard in unmarked graves. Does anyone know if there is a register of unmarked graves and where it is held?

My grandad~ Martin Gallagher played football for St Josephs~ Coundon. They won the Auckland Nursing Cup and the BAAFC (Bishop Auckland Amateur Football Cup?) in 1933/34. I have his football medals and a miniature silver trophy. Hello.I am Canadian by birth but my father and Grandfather and Grandmother were from the Village of Newfield in the County of Durham.They immigrated to Canada in December 1928 and settled in the City of Windsor Ontario.I have been interested in my family tree for some time but as most of us siblings were not the closest throughout the years there really has been no info as to time and places.What i can tell you is that the family name Laing figures prominently in the tree as Hannah Laing and Edward Laing were from the village and that he was a coal miner and that they had 4 daughters:Mary~Sarah(my grandmother)~Barbara and Hannah 2nd.Sarah Laing married Geroge Bromley(died in WW1)and had one daughter Hannah(my Aunt Betty)3rd.Sarah Laing Bromley remarried to William H Smith and they had 2 sons Edward Laing Smith(my father) and William(Bill)Smith.I am sending along a picture that they had taken at Chester-Le Street(I am hoping that is the right spelling?).If anyone has any info regarding this family or knows of anyone directly or indirectly related~it would be appreciated to hear from such ones.Thank you for taking the time to read this email.
