My g g grandmother Mary Graham was born in Plumpton Foot Mill on 6th Feb 1852. She was the daughter of James Schollick Graham (born abt 1825 Askham) and Mary Hetherington (born 1822 also Plumpton Foot Mill). James was a miller. The family moved to Liverpool by 1854 and James became a police officer. Any history of the mill or information on the family would be greatly appreciated.

My great grandfather~ Thomas Lowis was born in Skirwith c 1859. His mother~ Elizabeth Lowis~ nee Shaw~ was also born there c 1831. His father~ also Thomas c 1821~ I believe was born in Long Merton. I have traced the family to the 1891 census but cannot trace them any further back. It would be great if someone could help. Thankyou

My G.G.GdFather (John Watson) was born in Winskel about 1797. The next two generations were born and lived there. Does anyone know where they might be buried? The village did not have a Parish Church that I can find.

My mother (AND grandparents and great grandparents) was born here and many of my forebears lived in and around Winskill. I am trying to construct a family tree and write a family history. I would welcome any information / help / comments / history / anecdotes etc. Maybe I might discover relations ...................
