Newnham, Kent (4.8 miles away)
I am researching the PIMM family of Kent, this line goes to Chilham in Kent to 1508, and had the spelling PYM. The line that came to Newnham was James Norris PIMM 1769-1848 whose grandfather was Anthony PIMM who married Sussana NORRIS, and the NORRIS name was used in the first name for generations. James Norris married Sussana MILLS in 1793 in Brenchley Kent and had 11 Children.
One of the children was James Pimm 1798-1866 he migrated to the city of London and married Mary Southernden MALLERY, who were oyster merchants, they wanted to boost their sales of their products, so James invented a drink which is now known today as PIMMS, so succesful later in years, that they had to sell off the idea off to pay off debts. James I believe had 10 children, and one the descendants Mary Mallery PIMM married Robert ALLEN in 1854 they had a farm in Bush Peckham, I believe its called Pimms Place, the descendants still live in Kent possibly in the
Nettlestead area. James & Mary PIMM are buried at Trinity Church, Peckham, Kent
Below are the siblings of James PIMM & Mary, should anybody have leads plaese contact me - Vic Styles James Pimm 4th great nephew

Hello Linda, Thank you for replying.
So sorry for not replying sooner.
Can you remember what Mr Kemsleys first name was?
There were a lot of 'Fannys' in the family. Have you
got a name for the farm?
Many thanks Wendy

Hello - I am researching my Keeler family tree and have come to a brickwall. My great x 4 grandfather William Keeler was born in Pluckley 1814. His parents were William and Frances (nee Peters) and as far as I can see he had a brother Ashley and 2 sisters Mary & Ellen. Hoping that someone will be able to give more information about the family~ especially his father who had died before 1841.**Jackie

I am currently researching the Silverton family history. It would appear that Thomas Silverton married Elizabeth Leafgreen Crowcher in 1769. Her parents were John Crowcher (d 1785) & Elizabeth Leafgreen. Johns father was John Crowcher who died in 1793. The death being registered in Chatham.**I have noticed from Burial Records that a Robert Crowcher died on 21 April 1666 and the record shows Otterdean/St Lawrence.**Any help re the Crowcher/Leafgreen/Silverton connection would be much appreciated.**Peter Silverton

Hello. I am looking (again) at the Dales of Pluckley and the surrounding villages. My mother was a Dale and I have traced them back to Thomas Dale who married Margeret Baldock in Egerton in about 1855. Before that I have some confusion. I believe that another Thomas Dale married Mary Knowler in about 1829 but here it becomes very unclear. Do you have any info' that you might want to share with me? Also..completely coincidentally, I now own a farm just 2 miles from these villages. I couls take some photos of some of the houses that the Dales lived in. I would be happy to email you these if they are of interest. Regards, Rob Cowan

Sir John Stuard was a Captain at Leeds Castle. His father**Sir John Styward~ knight "Scotangle" had connections to Coventry England. The family ends up in Pateshull~ England****The Latinised adjective 'Roffensis' refers to Rochester****During 1450~ Coventry had become a favoured sanctuary for the Lancastrian King Henry VI and his wife~ Margaret of Anjou. The Royals fled here in June after an uprising by 50~000 men of Kent. In 1451~ King Henry VI granted Coventry along with its surrounding hamlets the elevated status of County~ and so~ from the 6th December **1451 there existed the "County of the City of Coventry" which would carry this status for nearly four centuries. **The settlements around the city forming the county were: Radford~ Keresley~ Foleshill~ Exhall~ Ansty~ Shilton~ Caludon~ Wyken~ Henly~ Wood-end~ Stoke~ Biggin~ Whitley~ Pinley~ Asthill~ Harnell~ Horwell & Whoberley~ plus parts of Walsgrave-on-Sowe and Styvechale.**The Royal family's problems of 1450~ things were to get worse. King Henry VI had become prone to periods of mental illness~ and in 1455 suffered a second bout~ lasting into 1456. It was perceived that the King's power~ and indeed his life~ might be in danger~ and so Queen Margaret~ now effectively in charge~ moved the Royal Court **to Coventry~ known by many as her "secret harbour".
