Have just discovered that my maternal Great Great Grandmother was born in Stock, Backwell on 8th March 1823.
Her father is registered as Richard Thomas Hipsley a farmer, and her mother as Charlotte, and they lived in Churchill, Somerset.
I now live in Devon and any information about the Hipsley familly would be appreciated.

I am trying to verify a bit of family lore and am wondering if anyone can tell me if the following statement is true. Can a person standing on the beach at the mouth of the Congresbury Yeo (where it empties into the Severn) see Wales~ albeit not very well and one must concentrate and squint ones eyes to see it? If anyone has stood at the mouth of the C. Yeo and can verify this~ it would be greatly appreciated - thankyou!

Hello**Im hoping someone will be able to help. Im looking for a family who breed boxer dogs around 11 years ago~ unfortunatley I can't remeber their family name apart from one of the little girls was called Ruby~ they also had two other daughters.**Im trying to find them as I bought a boxer from them 11 years ago (Milky way/Alice) who now has cancer. I am researching my family history The HIPPISLEY's (there are various spellings) all seemed to come from the Yatton area. If anyone can help me with any information I would be truly grateful. I have some information dating back to the late 1700's but am more interested in finding out how and where they lived rather than ammassing a list of names. One address I have is ROCK HOUSE. Believe Mark worked for some sort of Recording Studio in Yatton or Wrington. Lost contact with them around the end of 1994 beginning of 1995. Would love to hear how they are.
