I would love someone to come up with more information on what would probably be a scandal in my family tree.**Thomas Charles Rolls was born in Mar 1854 in Blandford Forum. In the 1881 census he was head of the household in Queen Street and teacher in the elementary school. He was listed as schoolmaster in the 1883 Post Office directory . He married Elizabeth Marrow (who ran the shop) and had 4 children: Thomas Charles~ Violet Elizabeth~ Alice Mary and Mabel. He then disappeared and only his wife and children are recorded in 1891~ 1901 and 1911. Did he 'do a runner'? His wife recorded that she was 'married' not 'widowed' and she continued to run the shop. In the 1891 Kelly's she was Mrs Elizabeth Rolls~ shopkeeper'.**

Alcock/ Alecock - Family history. I have traced my family tree back to a Daniel Alcock/ Alecock whose army record says he was born in Barrow in 1816. He married a Rebbecca Sparrow also from Barrow. They married in 1845 in Bury St. Edmunds. His father is described as William Alecock a Thantcher. However I was unable to find his baptism when I searched the parish records. However there where other thatchers in Barrow with the name Alecock/ Alcock including a Christopher Alcock whose name seemed to change over time possibly to Elcock. Does anybody know of a William Alecock in this area at this time?

Hi Audrey,my name is Jim van Yperen and I live in Holland. My grandmother was English and her mother was Martha Ratford. She is the daughter of William and Eliza Ratford. I recently found this using the 1881 England Census. Apart from George there are more children
Martha married James Edwards and as far as I know had one daughter. Florence Edwards. She married Gijs van Yperen. Florence died in 1945. I'am from 1952 so I never saw her.
Maybe you know more from the family? Is there still family in Dalham?
Kind regards Jim van Yperen

I just recently learned about some of my ancestors who were from Barrow~ Suffolk. The Lyes family from Joshua Lyes and Mary Nunn (1760s to ?)~ their son~ John Lyes and Frances Peacock (both born late 1780s - moved to St. Pancras~ Middlesex where they married in 1823. I believe that Frances Peacock returned to Barrow where she died and is buried - possibly about 1850?****I would be interested in hearing from anyone who is related to any of these people or who knows anything about them.****Thanks so much. ****Margie

Hi~ I am researching my family tree and would like any information about the Ison or Iason families. My Grandfather thomas lived in Ashley and my father Jack was born there in 1914. Thomas Iason married Emily Eliza Jane Jaggard (any information about the Jaggards would also be useful)and the family lived there for some time. My great grandfather Isaac also lived there. I would like to trace any other decendants of these people. Any information would be useful. Thank You.
