I am searching for the parents of Richard Creich~ b 1600 d 1630 at the Jamestown massacre.**He married Frances Bealle~ his name is mentioned in an article about the Castle.**He was probably a Bethune but the name had become unpopular after the death of Cardinal David.**John Knox had taken over the Castle after that.I can only find entries in LDS but no clues as to his parents.

Hello~ I'm tracing my Douglas ancestors## I'm back as far as far as 1779. John Douglas son ofJohn Douglas and Ann Crighton. John married Mary Turner in 1800## they had 12/13 children~ oneof whom~ James Struthers Douglas was my great grandfather## he married Annie/Anna Marie Crateand they had a similar number of children## James Robert b. 1874 in Birsay being my grandfather.##I have a picture of the Dairsie grave showing John Douglas d.1856~ Mary Turner d.1850~ 5 of their children plus Ann Crighton~ his mother d. 1832.##Any connections or added detail would be greatly appreciated.##John Paul Douglas (b. 1946 now living in Eastbourne.)

Our family came from Virgina to North Carolina in the late 1700's and early 1800's and then moved to Georgia and Florida in the late 1800's. We have a history of farming and to this day are still actively involved. Interesting to note that the Creich Castle in Fife~ Scotland was involved in farming activities. The first Creech~ "Creich"~ came to Virginia during 1635 as a guard and was killed by indians. He had two sons who were away during the fighting (indians) and they survived to continue the name. Creich is "Creech".****One day I will travel to Fife~ Scotland to see the Creich Castle. When I do I will bring a history of sorts of our family from the USA.

I am tracing my family in Scotland and found an ancestor who died in Kilmany manse in Kilmany~ Fife. Her name was Janet Cook (maiden name Hill)~ died in Kilmany in 1826. She was married to Dr. John Cook (1739-1815). They had 2 of children that I know of~ Harriot and Henry David.**Any info most appreciated.**Cheers**Michael**Melbourne~ Australia.

Hello I am looking for birth information about John Duncan who married elizabeth Burns in 1830 of st. andrews. he was born in dairsie abt 1811 and died in dundee in 1850. Hit a dead end on info on his birth and lineage.Grats. from a canadian connection.

I was an evacuee to Newport in 1942 until 1945~ Went to school at both Newport and at Woodhaven. Remember the Norwegian Sea Plane base at Woodhaven~ Sunderlands. Catalinas and Walrus's. Polish troops who used the garages as their vehicle base and passing one which was used as their cookhouse~ they made very tasty meatballs.**Was in the church choir at St Mary's Church. We lived at Mackie House along the road from newport to Woodhaven and then several houses in Kilburn Road.**Many years have passed since then~ so if anyone does remember me do drop a line.**
