I have been doing my family history since my father Frederick Clandfield died in 2004. Tracing ancesters back to Fyfield and Appleton.The first Henry 1701 and Dorathy Stone1712 I would be interested in any one who thinks thy my have a connection to any of the names I have posted.

Hi I am looking for any information on the Griffin family. I have John Griffin resident in Marcham~ Berkshire on the 1851 Census~ He was born around 1809 in Marcham~ parents John and Leah Griffin and was married to Mary. They had a son called Albert born Marcham 1850 and married Elizabeth~they were my great grandparents.

Some of my BALL ancestors moved from Hinton Waldrist to Shifford in the late 1700s. Charles BALL m Elizabeth DIPPER in 1794~ Shifford. At least I think he did. The banns were read but I'm told many Parish Records for Shifford were ruined by damp and no record of the marriage exists. I believe they had four children baptised there: William 1796~ Hannah 1797~ Esther 1802~ Phillip 1809. Possibly more. Can anybody please suggest somewhere else to look? No information about them between 1809 and 1824 when the family had moved on to Aston. All ideas appreciated~ thanks.

I live in York and am 75 and a widower. I am compiling a family history. My grandfather Herbert Legge (Legg)was born in Culham in 1866 and my great grandfather William Legge (Legg)was born in Garford in 1830. The family lived in Nuneham Courtney some years later.I am staying in the area from the 13th July for 3 days and will be visiting the villages and would like to find the streets and houses where they lived and take photos.
