I am researching the PIMM family of Kent, this line goes to Chilham in Kent to 1508, and had the spelling PYM. The line that came to Newnham was James Norris PIMM 1769-1848 whose grandfather was Anthony PIMM who married Sussana NORRIS, and the NORRIS name was used in the first name for generations. James Norris married Sussana MILLS in 1793 in Brenchley Kent and had 11 Children.

One of the children was James Pimm 1798-1866 he migrated to the city of London and married Mary Southernden MALLERY, who were oyster merchants, they wanted to boost their sales of their products, so James invented a drink which is now known today as PIMMS, so succesful later in years, that they had to sell off the idea off to pay off debts. James I believe had 10 children, and one the descendants Mary Mallery PIMM married Robert ALLEN in 1854 they had a farm in Bush Peckham, I believe its called Pimms Place, the descendants still live in Kent possibly in the
Nettlestead area. James & Mary PIMM are buried at Trinity Church, Peckham, Kent

Can anyone help me I am trying to trace my 3x great grandfather THOMAS NOWERS. I know he was born in Otterden in 1805-6. He was one of 11 children born to JOHN NOWERS and MARIA SOUTHGATE both John and Maria where born in Lenham.****I have been trying to find the marriage for my 3x great grandfather Thomas Nowers & Mary Horton? but am unable to find one in St Pauls Deptford which is where they moved to and had my 2x great grandfather John so I was wondering if they could have been married in the Otterden area? ****If anyone knows anything about the Nowers that lived in the Otterden area I would very grateful of any information that you can give me. I am trying to get more information on the Rev Frederick Augustine Crooke who was a curate at Wichling about 1855 and later listed as living at Kingsdown~ Sittingbourne. If he was about 23 at that time he may be the same person as my Great~ Grandfather but he has never been known to be of the clergy~ so far as I know. I am currently researching the Silverton family history. It would appear that Thomas Silverton married Elizabeth Leafgreen Crowcher in 1769. Her parents were John Crowcher (d 1785) & Elizabeth Leafgreen. Johns father was John Crowcher who died in 1793. The death being registered in Chatham.**I have noticed from Burial Records that a Robert Crowcher died on 21 April 1666 and the record shows Otterdean/St Lawrence.**Any help re the Crowcher/Leafgreen/Silverton connection would be much appreciated.**Peter Silverton

I am researching the Black and Files Family of the Norton~ Lynsted~ Ospringe~ Faversham area of Kent. John Black born 1795 was a Bailiff at Colyers Farm through the 1850s.He had married an Esther Files~ sadly Esther died giving birth to Stephen John Black in February 1851. Stephen then went to live with his uncle Charles Black and family in the High Street~ Lynsted. John then married a girl from Hereford~ moved to Symonds Yat~ Ross on Wye and then over into Pontypool~ Monmouthshire and the coalfields.
