• I am looking for help - my great grandfather was called Harry (or Henry) Jeffrey b.1884. On his marriage certificate his father is listed as William Jeffrey, a gardener. When he married he lived at Longford & Foston and other than that I don't know any more. Could he be related to your Great Grandfather, William?

I have lived in what was South Staffordshire~ now called West Midlands for many years. I have relatives in Alton~ Denstone~ Rocester~ Ellastone~ cubley(my mother was a Redfern)Marchington~ Sudbury~ Newborough~ Draycott in the Lay~ Hanbury Stramshall and Uttoxeter~ Once a very large extended family~ now decimated. I am hoping someone out there in Boylestone will be able to help me solve a family mystery!!## My maternal grandmother was Mary Morley~ who was the daughter of William Morley of Boylestone~ 1859 - 1931 (he is buried in the parish churchyard).## Mary Morley had a child~ Eliza~ out of wedlock in 1916~ and the child lived with Louisa Ann and William Morley and was named as a beneficiary in his will~ apparently being rewarded for her "considerable help with the farm in his later years".## Eliza seemed to disappear without trace after William's death at which time she would have been only 15 years old. I have been unable to trace any potential marriage or death details from the Birth Marriage and Death registers~ and her birth certificate does not name a father.## I was wondering whether anybody who has lived in Boylestone for a long time has any recollection of the Morley family and Eliza in particular~ and if anyone knows where she went after William's death.## Any information~ however insignificant it may seem~ will be most welcome.

I am a direct descendant of John Udall who married Elizabeth Bull at Ellastone on 9th November 1640. The family remained in the area~ from then on. I can not find John's birth in the parish registers for Ellastone. Has anyone any ideas how I may find out where he came from. John does seem to be the first Udall to arrive in Ellastone.**Kind regards.****Gay
