Desperately trying to research my Great~Great Grandfather William James Kennett......His son William James Kennett was born in Bridge 1874 and went on to Marry Elizabeth Ann Trowell on January 9th 1898(I have the Marriage Certificate) at the Holy Trinity Church in the Parish of Sittingbourne~Kent.----His son William James Kennett(21/8/1899-13/3/1985) born in Dartford~Kent went on to Marry Alice Ellen Pordage(1902-1951) at Milton~ Kent registrar Office on 11th June 1923.**Any help at all would be most greatful. One name that has come up is that of Lydia Lee born in Lydden~Kent 1835. Could this be the wife of the William James Kennett that I am looking for?**Thank you.

Hi~ I have discovered that my great great grandparents were sub postmasters at Whitfield Post Office. Would love to hear from anyone who has any connection to this. Their names were Eliza and George Moseley~ and the 1901 and 1889 census showed they lived there.

I was born at 2 Singledge Avenue~ Whitfield~ (now no 4) on the 18th Feb 1947. It used to big field where we children used play.**Monty (deceased) used to have a small cafe up by the main road. He was also an engineer and made lots of things to interest small boys. I also lived at Napchester road in one of the then new council houses. A couple of years in Dover and then back to 'Atlantis' just over the road from my grandparents place where I was born.**The family moved to London in 1960 and my happy childhood ended.**I now live in Rio de Janeiro.**Anybody out there remember me or perhaps my sisters~ Christine and Marilyn. My grandmother Charlotte was born in Mongeham in 1878 (Unfortunately~ I don't know her maiden name). She married my grandfather~ Frederick Horton from Ewell~ Kent in 1905. They later moved to River and had two sons. Horace was born in 1907 and Jack in 1912. They also lived in Sandgate at a later stage. The 1841 census shows a John Pockett c1805 living with his family in Middle Street~Deal.**Together with his Father I think they were involved in a coach Building or similar business which may have run coaches between Canterbury~ Ramsgate~ Margate~ Dover etc. **I have traced a firm called POCKETT & BATES also in Middle Street with offices at 124 Beach Street. Could there be any ATKINSON descendants in the Deal area?**Joseph William Atkinson~ born Allerston Yorkshire~ joined the Royal Marines Light Infantry in the 1860's~ his son by the same name was also in the service and was pensioned out in 1911. There were twelve children born to Joseph and his wife ELIZA TURNER who was born in Chatham abt. 1848.
