Trying to trace information on Elizabeth Withers (b1871) and her husband George Moore (b1867) we know George was killed by an Army despatch rider on the Bighton Road on 25th Feb ????~ So believed to be buried in the graveyard at Bighton Church?**Also no details of date of marriage~ so any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi~ im in the middle of doing my family tree and have came to a halt.my great grand father was a fredrick john turner (not sure of wifes name~) after they married in alton hants england moved to chawton and raised a family~ one of their children being my granmother florence mabel turner born 1914 in chawton.im trying to find her mothers name but have drawn a blank.is their any one that is tracing their family and have fredrick or any of his family in your tree~then i would be interested to get in touch.

I have recently read an article on the internet about ?Conservation Area Appraisal ?Brown and Chilton Candover? and I am wondering if you have or know of a contact who may be able to provide me with some local history. I am interested in anything to do with ?Moth Farm? ~ the church and the Old School House in Brown Candover. ****My husband and I recently visited the UK last September to go back in time and looked over these buildings (sadly from the outside of course). My father who died a couple of years ago was a boy in this area. He was Victor Robert William Withers (DOB 11/6/1913) the son of Robert Henry Poole Withers and Florence Smith. My grandmother Florence?s parent were Ann Rice and William Smith and she lived at Moth Farm and later with my father and his brothers at the Old School House. ****Dad use to tell me how they played in the cemetery of the Church. It was so interesting to be where he had lived as a boy but I have little history of the time and would love anything about the people of the day and descendants. I know nothing more about my grandfather or where he came from~ but it seems these lovely old buildings have some stories to tell about my family. ****We were only in England for 4 days and could only go to Brown Candover for the day where we met up with my English cousins for the first time in 52 years. I had last seen them when I was 10 years old having visited England in 1956 from Australia. Dad migrated to Australia by himself at the age of 16years and never saw his father again but we did get to meet my grandmother ?Florence Withers (nee Smith)? who was living in Loughborough at the time. ****I would dearly love to hear from you or anyone who may have some news about my ancestors. I found the Council article very interesting and feel that there was a great deal of information gathered that perhaps was not necessary for the report but may be interesting to me.**
