I am researching the Crocket(t) family who originated around Shrewsbury and would like to hear from anyone who has a connection or who can offer any further information.

The earliest I can pinpoint is my 7xGt Grandfather Job Crocket who married Mary or Margaret in Stapleton in 1685. They had 2 sons;
Job (b.1686, m Sarah Jones 1717 in Church Pulverbatch)
John (b.1687)

Job (6xGt) and Sarah had 4 children;
John (b.1718, m Sarah Bagley 1739 in Shrewsbury)
Richard (b.1726, m Elizabeth Baldwyn 1740 in Leominster)
William (b.1730)
Eleanor (b.1735)

Richard (5xGt) and Elizabeth had 5 children;
William (b.1742, m Mary Griffiths 1780 in Pontesbury)
John (b.1744, m Jane Pugh 1768 in Church Pulverbatch)
Richard (b.1747, m Anne Griffiths 1777 in Pontesbury)
Mary (b.1750, m Isaac Andrews 1778 in Pontesbury)
Elizabeth (b.1755)

Richard (4xGt) and Anne had 4 children;
Thomas (b.1781, m Sarah)
Edward (b.1784)
Sarah (b.1787, m Thomas Clayton 1812 in Shrewsbury)
John (b.1791)

Thomas (3xGt) and Sarah had 3 children;
Thomas (b.1813, m Mary Ann Randall 1842 in London)
Edward (b.1815)
Robert (b.1817)
and they also 'adopted' Maria (b.c.1821, parents unknown)

Thomas junior is my Gt Gt Grandfather and left the Shrewsbury area so he is my last link. If you are descended from any of the above I would love to hear from you and possibly exchange information.

I am researching my great great grandmother Elizabeth Hampson, who was born in Minsterley in 1811. She married William Parry of Chester and they moved to Liverpool. I should love to know of any details of her early life in Minstereley. There appears to be a John Hampston(with a 'T'),son of John and Elizabeth, christened in Minsterely in August 1812. Maybe this was a brother.I have no other information.

I am researching the Pooles of Pontesbury. My great x 3 grandfather was John Poole c1796 who lived at Pontesbury Hill with his wife Susan (Susannah), daughter Susan and sons George, Thomas and John in 1851. My Gt-grandmother Emma (Susan's daughter) lived at Workhouse bank next to the Albert Arms Inn with her sons George, Thomas and Charles (my grandfather)in 1901. (both she and her mother Susan were called Poole, so presumably were not married). Can anyone help please, even the smallest amount of information would be useful. Many thanks

  John c1796 appears to have had siblings: Richard 1798; John 1802; William 1804; George 1807- all born Westbury to Edward and Mary.
  
  I didn't go any further back as I didn't see the need for our purposes.
  Am sure that you have at least most of the above- but hopefully there may be something in the above that is useful.

  I also have the same link to the family as Gill. Therefore, I haven't really done much on the Pooles per se, only how they relate to the Binnersleys.
  
  John Poole married Harriet Binnersley on the 15th December 1908. John is down as a labourer, as his father John.
  
  They were married in the Parish Church of Pontesbury.
  
  John and Harriet lived for a number of years (at least 20!), as Gill says, seemingly as housekeeper and master. On earlier census returns, John lists his occupation as Sawyer.
  
  All the census entries for this couple are on The Hill in Pontesbury.
  
  Both Harriet and John William Poole are also on the 1911 census.
  
  John died on the 3rd October 1913 at The Hill -he was 74 and a wood sawyer. Harriet's son John William Binnersley registered the death -which was from some sort of haemorrhage.
  
  As far as going further back goes - I had a little look as we did think for a while that John William Poole may have been the father of Harr

Miles Barber had 2 daughters Sarah and Harriett they married John Jones( son of Samuel) and Thomas Morgan and both moved to Yorkshire. I am a LYKES and descend from John George Lykes in the 1700's. I know that **there was a Lykes House and Lykes Meadow in Pontesbury or Pontsbury Upon The **Hill in England in Shropshire.
