My Mother and father (John and Ena Ridley) were married in the Tibberton Parish Church and my mother Ena Mary Bassett attended the local school. I am trying to find any records that confirm their marriage. I am also trying to locate and records of the burial of my elder brother Robert Ridley who died at birth and was (I under stand) buried in the Tibberton Parish Church cemetary. Both may parents have now passed on so I am wroking from verbal history passed on. I believe I have cousins who own the Basset Nursery at High Leadon and I would love to make contact with them again. Any help very much appreciated.

George's parents were James Smart and Elizabeth Cox.**George and Jemima Smart arrived in the port of Lyttelton New Zealand on a ship the Merope on the 27th September 1874 with their 4 children. I have located george and Jemima's Smart grave site in Christchurch New Zealand.**George born 12/08/1821 Minchinhampton.**Any relative please communicate.

I am now 83 and live in essex but my thoughts often stray back to when I was a lad and lived in Rudford. I used to cycle to Huntley Manor every day where I worked in the gardens. It was at that time a childrens home. The owner was Major C P Ackers.**I joined the R A F in 1943 and when demobbed went back for a few months until I married an Essex girl and have been here since.**I often wonder what happened to the estate.
