My name is Bjrn Gagner now living close to Gothenburg in Sweden. Many years ago during the summer 1966 i spent a time staying together with a wonderful family to learn english. They lived in Kirton Policestation located at Bucklesham Rd where John Newstead was a policeman. John Newstead died suddenly in his home during my stay in july 1966. I had to change family during my stay and came to an other family living in Felixstowe.**I missed the family Newstead a lot and wonder now if anybody remember something about the family. If they moved and where ex. They had a boy~ John after his dad who was 16 at that time (summer 1966) and an older daughter (forgott her name) living in Ipswhish. Can anyone help?I am descended fromJohn Wolton(married Ann)he was an agricultural labourer at Broxstead House Sutton Suffolk in 1851.They had many children including Noah (married Amelia Osborne)They had 11 children.Are ANY of these names familiar to anyone.Desperate to finish family tree.John Wolton was born in Ufford.Wife Ann Hollesley.Amelia b Ramsholt~Noah b Sutton.Any help gratefully received.Thank You.Jenny

Looking to find old friends~ was stationed in Felixstowe 1967 - 69 time~ with 2 Royal Anglian~before battalion moved to Colchester~ the camp was where the holiday caravbans are now and the new docks area.~ age dims the memory a bit. They were Dusty Miller (married a girl named Sue I think~ Moe (girl)~ Lofty Head or Hammond~ Tiny Rose~ Gifford (boxer). Used to go the Ordance pub most Fridays/Saturday nights for the disco. Had some very good times there. I now live in Haverhill and have done for some years now. Have only been back once and brought back so many fond memories.

Hi This is a great website you have. I am very interested because my great grand parents grew up in Sutton at Rose Cottage~ Chapel Road~ Sutton. My great grandmother's name was Florence Mahala Clarke - he mother Bertha and her father Jared. She had 3 brothers Arthur~ William and Jared~ and one sister Mary-Anne. In 1900 she gave birth to my grandfather Selwyn - I am trying very hard to find out who my grandfathers father was - I am after no gain just to know my family history. If anyone out there has any information they can supply to help me with my search I would be very grateful. As I said earlier I just want to know because of my family tree. To add to the above Florence Mahala Clarke married Charles Cook in 1902 and then married again in 1930 to Charles London. her third marriage was around 10 years later to William Drage. On her second marriage she was marked as a spinster! My Grandfather was known as Drage after her 3rd marriage. Any help anyone can give would be gratefully appreciated. thank you
