My maternal ancestors are from your beautiful village and wondered if anyone has any connections to them or knows anything interesting about them. My grandmother was Ethel Eliza Hodges 1878 - father Leonard James Hodges born 1860 son of James Hodges born 1822 and his wife Mary Ann Hodges (nee Neville). They may have lived in Overend or Duke Street. I hope to visit Elton for the second time quite soon. Kind regards Angela Verity from Nottingham

I am descended from the family of John and Mary (nee Nichols)WARD married October 1801 in Castor, does any one have any connection to this family as I would like to go back further and have searched records offices and websites but can't find anything earlier than this marriage so suspect they came from a different village to the one they married in.

Hi Cindy, Ive been researching our family tree, and it would seem we are distantly related. Gamble would have been 3x great uncle - his brother William Henson, was my 3x great grandfather. Ive logged into ancestry.co, and the family links are up via dixons of dartford tree. I would love to know if anyone knows when, or why some of the Dixon family moved away from Kings Cliffe? 1841 William wasnt showing as living with his parents Enos and Jane, in Flag Lane, Kings Cliffe. In 1844 he married Mary Ann Seth from Oundle in St Lukes Parish, Old Street Islington, London. 1851 census shows him married and living in Shoreditch, the family then moved across to the Walworth area of London. any info, hints, rumours etc, we would love to hear from you, Kind regards, Nancy Clark

Connecting the last few dots after 30 yrs of research. **Looking for info on Willis surname from Warmington. **William Willis 1809 m. Sarah Claridge 1812. Had many children~ one was Ann Willis b. 1847. She had Zipporah Willis 1867 with no father listed. (poss out of wed-lock). There is no mention of Ann or Zyporah Willis on the 1871 census~ but on the 1881 census~ Zyporrah Willis was living with grandparents William and Sarah in Warmington. There was also a Henry Willis as grandson b. 1967. Ann Willis dropped out of site. Has anyone come across Ann Willis being buried in the parish church cemetery or seen any obits for her in their searches? Thank-you-**Lynnette **

On my recent tour of UK in September/October (2008) I visited Nassington as I recalled distant memories of a few childhood visits and recollections that family roots were tied up with the village. What a delightful place.**Doing some research on my return to New Zealand I find my Great Gran~ Maria Foster was born there in 1867. Her mother's maiden name was Betsy Bream. Great Gran had 2 brothers Bill (who had a daughter Annie & 2 sons~ Tom & Albert) and Henry (married Gladys & had 11 children?) and 3 sisters~ Sarah~ Nancy and Catherine. Albert worked at Mould's Butchers & apparently Sarah married Elijah Starsmore~ Nancy never married but lived with Sarah & Elijah and Catherine went to London and died there. My Great gran~ Maria Foster~ left Nassington and came to earl Shilton (Leics) to find work and ended up marrying William Nicholls in St Simon & St Judes church.**Sarah & Elijah had 1 daughter Mabel (married Bert Jackson and 2 sons Alec & Roy). Alec became Major in the army (retiring in Salisbury) Roy was an engineer in Peterborough. Nellie Kettle~ Violet & Elizabeth Foster were Great Gran's cousins in Peterborough.**I wonder if this information will help anyone to trace their roots or fills any gaps. **It would be great to hear from "family members" to help me add to the history of the Bream/Foster/Nicholls tree.**I can be reached at: kiwicom@xtra.co.nz**Regards~Ian Scott~ Havelock North~ NZ
