My 4th Gt. Grandfather John PEARSON was probably born in Dickleburgh around the begining of the 18th Century. His father was also a John and died before 1768 [I have a copy of his Will dated 28.4.1767 which also mentions Peter PEARSON & Grandson Thomas RODWELL]. 4th Gt. G. John married Sarah PRICKE 23.7.1745 at Sudbury~ Sfk. I have a copy of a Settlement Cert that shows that John & Sarah settled in Long Melford~ Sfk from Dickleburgh. Can anyone help with dates of B~ M & Deaths - any info about this family.

The Palgrave Society was founded in 1973 to bring together historians with an interest in families bearing the surname Palgrave and its variants. The Society publishes a quarterly magazine with details of its members' research. It has also published a more substantial hardback book surveying Palgrave research work undertaken prior to 1978. Hello~ **We are researching the Battle family~ who emigrated to Australia in 1852. We have tracked our family back to an Edmund Battle from Campsey Ash~ who married Rebecca Davy from Syleham~ she was born 12/10/1824~ her parents were Thomas & Sarah Davy. We are really keen to learn Edmunds true lineage as we are visiting the UK at the end of the month and would love to visit the area of my husband?s ancestor ? we?re just not sure which ancestor beyond Edmund is the one to focus on! Edmund married Rebecca Davy and they had 2 children~ Ephraim & Sarah~ in England before emigrating to Australia~ though little Sarah died on the way. The ship was the Java (the smaller~ German one).We have quite a few sources of facts/figures if you are interested. Or if you could direct us to where we might find some more information~ it would be much appreciated. Edmund went on to found quite a dynasty of Battles in Australia~ many of whom were quite prominent in the pioneering of this country and quite entrepreneurial (and still are). So it would be nice to see where all this came from.
