Further to my message left yesterday~ Roadley and Alice Skinner live most~ if not all of their married life in West Derby~ so it is most likely that anyone who knew them would also live in West Derby.**If you did know them I would be grateful for news thereof.**Yours sincerely**Tony Archibald

I forgot to say in my last message~ Roadley and Alice were married in West Derby in 1934 and lived there as far as I am aware for the remainder of Roadley's life~ and if Alice is still alive~ I would imagine that is where she will be.##Thank you for your patience##Tony Archibald

David Mossman Skinner was my great-grandfather. His son Edward Mossman Skinner married Elizabeth Harvey from Foxdale in the Isle of Man. Their children were Roadley~ born in 1906 and Ruth Gladys~ born in1908. Roadley married Alice M Lea in 1934~ but to my knowledge they had no offspring. Gladys married Robert Cecil Archibald and they had two sons~ Roadley Cecil and Anthony Robert. Both of my parents have passed away~ as has Uncle Roadley. He died in 1990~ but I can find no record of Alice's death~ so she might possibly still be alive~ though she will be over 100 years of age if she is!##I would be very grateful for any information about Roadley and Alice Skinner from anybody who knew them or was possibly related to them.##Also~ I found a photograph of my grandparents with Roadley and Gladys in a school group. The sign on the wall behind them is an architect's dividers~ which I think is one of the signs associated with Freemasonry. My grandfather was in later life a member of the Freemasons and was a lodge master.##If anyone can let me have any information regarding this photograph of the schoold group again~ I would be very grateful.##Thank you for reading this~##Tony Archibald.

My great grandfather was David Mossman Skinner from Bolton. His son Edward Mossman Skinner married Elizabeth Harvey from Foxdale in the Isle of Man. They had two children~ a boy~ Roadley and a girl~ Ruth Gladys. Gladys was my mother. I am looking for any information about my Uncle Roadley Skinner~ who married Alice M Lea in 1934. I know that Roadley died in 1991 but know nothing at all about Aunt Alice. I would be grateful for any information about them from people who knew them or even better~ were related to them.

This is a great idea~ and every village everywhere should have this kind of site. I came to this site to see if I could get to know some of the people of your area by exchanging emails. I hope that this is something the develops because its always good to get to know other people. And since the area of New York State where I live is much like your area## rolling green hills~ smaller villages and towns~ and most of the land belongs to farming. So I think the friends made from your area would be great because of the things we already share in common. And to those who end up reading this~ I wish you a wonderful~ enjoyable and peaceful day. Take care~ Ralph-Wordon

I attended this great school from 1935 to 1939. I would very much like to hear from anyone who went to this school during these years. From Church Street (as it was named then) I went to Manor Road School. In 1937 or there-a bouts all of us plus teachers saw the German Airship fly over the school. Two years later war was declared. Can anyone remember this startling event?**Best wishes to all.**George Nieman

Hello to anyone who reads this.****No great event.****I'm just doing a bit of research on my family tree.****From about 1948 until about 1953~ I lived with my grandparents in Haydn Rd (105 **I think) Knotty Ash.****We then moved away as my adoptive father was in the navy and based at Plymouth.****We later moved to Storeton near Birkenhead and we visited my grandparents often.****I have many vivid memories of Haydn (spelling?) Road~ my grandparents house and **my many trips on the ferry back and forth from the Birkenhead to Liverpool.****I have no close family alive and any photos~ documents etc that my mother had **when we came to Australia (May 1960 on the P & O liner the "Orion" I think) **have been destroyed.****I am looking to find ANY info/maps/pictures of both Knotty Ash~ Birkenhead and **Storeton so that I can put together a small amount of my history to leave to my **descendents.****I have been able to make contact with "Friends of the Wood" who are now **regenerating the woodland to it's former state (as I remember it).**I was excited to find they have photos of the wood on their website.****Another site (I think it's called Merseyside eCards??) was really helpfull too.****I would also like to trace my real father (or any records pertaining to him) **but I only know his first and last name and I just assume he lived not too far **from Knotty Ash.****Any advice re internet sites that may help me will be greatfully accepted!****cheers~****Samantha**

Have started researching family history. I am looking for any information about **my husband's Great grandmother~ Clara Amy Liston. She had children Jack~ **Margaret (known as Rita)~ Donald & Thelma (my husband's Grandmother). Margaret **& Donald were twins. Clara had her first 3 children by a man named EVANS. **Thelma's birth certificate states that her mother's name was Clara & her father **was George William Hankinson. The family lived in Curtis Road~ Liverpool until **they moved to East Ham~ London somewhere around 1927. Clara is somehow related **to Mrs Agnes Liston/Wolter who died in 1914 on the Empress of Ireland. I **suspect that Clara is not her birth name & that she is in fact Agnes's sister **Amy as Thelma remembers her mother being called Auntie Amy. If anyone could **just corroborate theory on this it would be of great help!
