I am searching for my ancestors in Hoe~ Norfolk~ England and the surrounding area. The last names I have are John Butters who died in 1836 in Hoe. He married Sarah Hazel in 1805 in Hoe. John Butters would have been born around 1785 but I have searched all the records available to me and can not find his birth and parents. I do know that Sarah Hazel was born in 1786 in Gressenhall to Peter Hazel and Mary Brock but I have been unable to find further information about Peter Hazel. I would be so grateful to learn more about these lines and any stories. I would love to learn more in general about the Butters name in that area and I hope some day to also visit. We understand from the 1891 census that a possible relative~ Elizabeth Beekie was born in Old Dereham~ Norfolk around 1861/2. We cannot trace her or any of her family - we wonder if they came originally from Scotland. Would very much welcome any info regarding influx of people from~ say Scotland~ or anything on Old Dereham.**Many thanks.

I was born in Foxley 1951 i come back up every few years just to look and remember went to Reepham sec mod do any of you kids of that time remember the wonderful days we had over on Bawdeswell Heath or swimming at Swanton i was there a few weeks ago it all looks so different now ~i remember when i was eleven i actually drowned in the river at Lyng went unconcious gone then apparently somebody jumped off the bridge found me under the water and then proceeded to give me the kiss of life i eventually came to and then rode my bike home to Foxley ~never did tell my Mum ~she~s still alive and living in Australia along with my sister Lynn

My gt-granfather## George Benjamin Armes was born in Norwich~ but his father (listed as William ARMS) is shown as having been born in Longham (1792). Was the Longham name really Arms or Armes ? Incidently~ he married Lydia Bishop~ if that is helpful to anyone.

I am researching my family tree. Jane Rawson my great grandmother is shown as **living in Toftwood in the 1881 census with Elizabeth~ **James~John~William~Charles Herbert and Lily. She was 36yrs at the time. My **Great Grandfather James Rawson apparently was in Norich Castle county Prison at **this time. I have no idea what for.**My Great Great Grandmother Elizabeth Rawson lived with her daughter Eliza at 96 **Stone Road Toftwood and at 97Stone Road there was a Henry Rawson believed to be **son of Elizabeth Rawson with his family. He was 41 in 1891census. **I would love to hear from anyone who has any information re the houses (if **still standing) or my ancestors. **
