I am looking for information on an early Ancestor~ named George STAPLE b. circa 1800. On '51 census he says born [sic] St Ostriste~ on '61 census he says born West Quantoxhead. Lived mostly in Stogumber and Fitzhead. I believe he married Charlotte Shorney from same area.**Any Information Gratefully appreciated.**Cheers Jan

Hello~ My sister Sally and I are looking for any info on our maternal grandparents who we never knew. Mary Jane nee Owen and Benjamin John Lovell lived in Dunster from about 1905 onwards our Mum Josephine was born in 1920 lived in Dunster untill after the war ~ met and married our Dad during war both in Forces then moved to Exeter. as did twoof heer sisters Doreen and Ellen..Have we any distant relations around think Gran was born in Wiliton and Grandad came from Bristol area...Mary Jane Owens had at least two brothers Frederick and Harold and two sisters Dulcie who also went to Exeter and Nesta who lived in Minehead after marriage. Thanks...

Searching for ancestors of GILES NEWTON and believe he may be connected to Newton's from the Somerset~ Dorset or Bristol area. This GILES NEWTON appears in the colony of Virginia in 1755. The Heralds Visitations of Somerset show the families I believe he may be connected to. I would like to correspond with anyone who may be able and would like to help in my search.
