My grandfather came to the United States in 1869 at the age of two with his parents a brother and two sisters His name was Ernest John Daniel Danks. His father was John Danks and his mother was the former Caroline Hickman. His mother and her mother and maybe some sisters owned the High Oak Inn in Pensnett.** John Danks worked in iron at the then Rosedale Rolling Mill in Kansas City~ Kansas~ USA. Ernest Danks later went to California. My mother Lucile Danks lived in Los Angeles where I was born. I now am retired and live in Santa Rosa California 60 miles north of San Francisco. Maybe someone in Pensnett is distantly related to one of the above.

Researching James Horniblow who married Lucy Walters at St Thomas' Dudley Worcester and in the 1851 Census was said to be living at Hagely. He emmigrated to NZ in 1861 with Lucy and 6 children. Elisabeth aged 19 when she arrived in Lyttleton New Zealand is my maternal ancestor (my great~ great~ great grand mother). Suspect there were other children who may have married and stayed behind in the UK.

Hi~ I'm trying to trace any persons that RENTED a house on Ladysmith Road~ Cradley Heath between 1938 and 1952. I know the house was owned by a certain family but they lived elsewhere. It is a family who rented pre/post war. They had a boy aged approx 5 yrs~ who unfortunatly died and a daughter~ approx 2-3 yrs~ who is still living~ to my knowledge. The father was a carpenter of sort and owned a motor car (both parents deceased). Any help in finding a name to go with these details would be very greatfully received. hello all~ i am trying to find out about alfred moore born in 1845 or 1846. he married a girl named ellen and had children~ william~ joseph~ jane ann~ walter~ john~ emily and fanny. i know they moved to stockton but i cant find anything else about about alfred and his parents or ellen~s maiden name. some censuses say they were both born in halesowen~ some say dudley some say rowley regis. if anyone can help i would be so grateful. i have been looking for ages for more information on alfred and i am at a loss as to what to do now. thanking anyone in advance~ helen

Rowley Regis was the birthplace of my grandfather William Redfern who later moved to Derbyshire along with other members of the family. He married Agnes Morris whose family also originally came from Rowley Regis.**He had brothers called John~ Joseph~ Josiah~ Aurther and Thomas. He had sisters called Myra~ Ann~ Edith and Amy.**My father was also called John Redfern - same as myself - and I recall as a boy visiting the homes of both Myra and Thomas - in or near Dudley.

Genealogy~ I am searching for infomation on John Fryer born around 1774~ he was a plumber and glazier in Old Swinford. He married Nancy Brooks 1795 but she died 1798~ he then married Catherine Whitacre 29-12-1800~ there were 4 known children Frances 1802 Sarah 1804 Horatio1806 and emma 1809.**Horatio married Mary Arnold they had eight chilren. Emma married Charles Shaw. Any help with the family would be appreciated. John was my 4 times great grandfather.

Does anyone know where a (then) young lady last seen in 1968 by the name of Margaret Rutter is today? She was blonde / fair~ medium height. She had been my girlfriend. I expect she is around 50 years of age now possibly slightly more and probably married. I believe she lived in Gauden Road~ possibly had a number 9 in the address. Her father worked for the Midlands Electricity Board I think and in their stores dept?****I would love to say hello again if anyone out there can help.
