I am a descendent of a John and Eliza Smith of Haslington and their son John Smith b. about 1837~ who migrated to Australia with his mate Thomas Pate on the "Gilmore" in 1855 with the Assisted Immigration Scheme. Is any one out there connected? I would love more info and there are lots of long lost rellies here downunder.I am his gggrandaughter. **Hope to hear from you. 01/10/09

I am looking for relatives of Rob Thompson who lived in Barton~ Cambs during the 1930's. He was a young man in the building trade~ believed to have parents who owned a building firm nearby. He was born around 1907 and I am trying to trace anything about him or his family. Maybe someone can recall anyone of the Thompsons living in Barton even if it was long ago. I would love to know something as this man was related to me. It may be that I have some distant relations somewhere.

I'm searching for family connections having just discovered that William and Thomas Titchmarsh were baptized in 1694 and 1696 respectively. Their father William was a Yeoman from Barrington. Members of the family were later found in Great Eversden~ Arrington ad Melbourn. Any information would be very useful.**Thank you

Most of my ancestors dating from 1585 to 1761 are recorded at Harston or Bottisham starting from early 1800.. If you have any information please let me know. I won't list all the names~ but the main ones are Thomas~Robert~Stephen~Henry & George.**I assume that as the place name Hatley is close by they originated from their prior 1500. Any information would be much appreciated. **Regards Alex

My Grandparents were Arthur and Elsie Cooper Chapman. Married in Meldreth on Christmas Day 1920. They came to the US with my mother~ Iris~ in 1925 and settled in the Rochester New York area. Ancestors include Selfe~ Pryor~ Day~ Worland~ Harper~ Cooper~ Chapmans.

I would be thoroughly greatful if anyone knows of any pictures of Torpoint House in Meldreth. My father lived there with my grandparents after the warbefore moving up to Shropshire and i am compiling a collection of photos to be framed for a Xmas present. If anyone can help please contact me. I dont know if it is still called Torpoint house but any info or help would be greatly appreciated.
