Hi****Trying to jump the pond with my genealogical research without a lot to go on. My ancestor~ John Hopper~ was recorded as having been born in the Hambleton East area of North Yorkshire in 1751 and was a farmer. (I have no idea what town.) The only potentially related names from that area of Yorkshire I have found are Christopher Hopper (born 26 December 1759 in Dalby-with-Skewsby) whose father was also named John Hopper. I'm hoping that there is someone with better information than I that might be able to confirm that Christopher and my John were brothers or send me down another path. By the way~ my John sailed from Scarborough on the Thomas & William in 1774. Thanks!****Regards~**Eric Hopper
