I was brought up in Trefonen in Sandrock Cottages when my Mother and grandmother left Liverpool during the Blitz. My family moved back after the war but my grandmother and great grandmother lived there in Sandrock and Bryn Hyfryd. After my GGmother died my great aunt lived in Bryn Hyfryd till her death in 1968 and my g mother lived in School Lane so I have always had a connection to the village.Since carrying out family history research I now know my family lived there from at least 1800 and were involved in the mining industry with one being the colliery manager. They lived in Hide (Hyde?) Park Cottage and Piccadilly and I have a photo in my possession showing Ann Evans(1830)with the cottage details on it.Are there any local historians able to help me find any more details of my family?

Hi~ My great grandmother~ Agnes Morgan~ was born in Madley Herefordshire in 1874~on her marriage certificate her father was James Morgan (1829)and her mothers maiden name was Elizabeth Pritchard(1831).I believe they lived in Jetnal Street. **If anyone has any connection or info I would love to hear from you.

My great great grandfather Robert Evans came to Pant from Llansilin and lived at Bron Fedw (now Vron Vedw)~ where my great grandfather Samuel Evans was born. Robert and his other son Robert worked in the quarry but Samuel left around 1901/2 for Kendal. If anyone knows of waht happened to the family or has access to quarry records I would be most appreciative.

Since writing the entry below about my grandmother~ I think I have probably traced her mother. She was Mary Jones~ Jones was also her maiden name. She married Allen Jones in 1865. According to the 1881 census~ she was born at Cefn Canol in 1846~ and I think she was the daughter of John and Mary Jones of Tref Ar Clawdd.

My grandmother~ Elizabeth Jane Jones~ was born at Iron Mills. Her family lived in Hindford~ and I think she was a housemaid at Park Hall in 1891 (Census). Her father was Allen Jones~ from Llansillon~ her mother~ Mary~ I would love any information about Park Hall~ and I wonder if I have any family living in the area. Greetings from Christchurch New Zealand.****Hi~ I am trying to find out about Pearson P CHAMINGS 62 Ashmead Drive Rednal UK.****My Great Aunt living in Christchurch New Zealand~ wrote a letter to Mr CHAMINGS about her Aunt who died around March 12 1965 and her estate. My GAunt died several years ago but this information has just become available to me from another relative who has no knowledge of the circumstances of the death in Bromsgrove.****My Great Aunt quoted seeing the notice in the Northfield Edition of Bromsgrove Messinger. I think Mr CHAMINGS might have been connected to a law firm but a 'google' search on this name came up with a Pearson P CHAMINGS senior sanitary inspector Bromsgrove~ so not sure what this 'connection' would have to do with my GGAunt's death.****Is the address used relevant to this village or is it in Bromsgrove/Birmingham area?****Thanks for taking time to read my message :)****Helen**Christchurch New Zealand

hi im looking for my gggrandfather Thomas Williams he was born in morton 1838~i think he was in connaught rangers at vsome time~he and his family also lived in india approx 10 years~maybe as soldier or possibly railway worker as when he came back he lived at orchard street oswestry and was shown as railway worker~he married an irish girl mary kennedy this was not approved of in them days and i think her family shunned her~thanks

I am originally from Lancashire but emigrated to Australia. My nanna's mum was from Whittington~ Shropshire but she told the family that they were from Crickheath. My great grandmother was born Sarah Lewis in 1856. She was a lady's maid. Her father was Thomas Lewis~ a gamekeeper. her first husband was my great grandfather~ Robert Jones born in Scotland according to the 1891 Census. He is listed as a commercial traveller. I need to find their marriage before they moved to Salford~ Lancashire. Can anyone help?

I am looking for anyone who knows anything about the work fo James Lear. I beleave that he was a man who lived rough but was an accomplished artist. I understand that he ended is days at Morda. I understand that he did some paintings in the Hospital there but they where distroyed when the building was burned. I am looking for Photos of his work~ or anyone who has his work.
