Does anyone have any information relating to Cragg Hall Wood~ Tattingstone. My name is Bjrn Gagner now living close to Gothenburg in Sweden. Many years ago during the summer 1966 i spent a time staying together with a wonderful family to learn english. They lived in Kirton Policestation located at Bucklesham Rd where John Newstead was a policeman. John Newstead died suddenly in his home during my stay in july 1966. I had to change family during my stay and came to an other family living in Felixstowe.**I missed the family Newstead a lot and wonder now if anybody remember something about the family. If they moved and where ex. They had a boy~ John after his dad who was 16 at that time (summer 1966) and an older daughter (forgott her name) living in Ipswhish. If any has any information~ please write to me: ****gagnerenator@gmail.com****Bjrn Gagner**Konsertgatan 1~**SE-Vstra Frlunda**Sweden

My great great grandfather Thomas Kenney (spelt as Kenny) appears in the 1841 Census in Holbrook as a School Master with his wife Mary. They were married in London in 1837 and were in Cheshire in 1850. Any information about him and/or the school would be appreciated.

Hi
My Nan's grandmother (Elizabeth nee FAYERS)was at Dairy Farm with her parents Daniel FAYERS and Elizabeth (nee THORPE) from at least 1851. In 1858 Elizabeth married William DAWSON (my gg grandfather) and moved top Rushmere St ANdrews where William was the miller. Daniel and Elizabeth died in 1890 and 1889 respectively, and their other daughter Julia FAYERS took over the Farm with the help of William DAWSON (Elizabeth's eldest son) in 1881 census, and with Harry Fayers DAWSON and Grace Julia DAWSON (two more of Elizabeth's children) in 1891. By 1901 Julia, Grace, and Harry have moved to Street Farm Trimley St Mary, but she is buried at Brightwell along with her parents.
Brightwell is next to Bucklesham, where William Dawson's eldest brother Joseph Mayhew DAWSON was the farmer.
Brightwell and Bucklesham are East of Ipswich along the Bucklesham Rd
I have loads of info about the DAWSONs and other related families who were farmers around the area. One of William DAWSON's nephews was

Research JOHNSON family from Freston. Earliest ancestor married into a FOSDICK/FOSDIKE/FOSWICK family of Woolverstone & Freston. Earliest details from late 1500s. Appeared to follow Wheelwright or Blacksmith occupations. Would love to hear from any family connections. Regards Anne Wiltshire

I have been researching my Family History since the 1990's. My main line is ASKEW and most of my ancestors came from Stutton~East Bergholt~ Tattingstone and Brantham.##I have traced back to the late 1700's on the ASKEW line. My 4th Great Grandfather was Samuel ASKEW. He married Maria GILES in Tattingstone church 25th Nov 1788. He died 23rd Oct 1856 in Brantham aged 87 yrs. I have located him in the 1841 and 1851 Census in Brantham. The problem I have is he just seemed to appear~ saying he was from Stutton. I have recorded a large number of ASKEW's dating from the 1500's but not one was born in 1769 called Samuel. The only one I can find with that birth year comes from Northampton.##I think he could well be who I am looking for.##I was wondering if any local people from here or surrounding areas might have connections to the ASKEW family. I would appreciate it if anyone with information would contact me please.##Sam was an Agricultural Labourer who them became a Husbandman (Tenent Farmer). Most of his sons were Boot and Shoemakers.##I am hoping to get this message printed in all surrounding areas and hope I might get some results after all these years.##Thank you##Trevor Askew##29 Parnell Road##Ipswich##IP1 6SP##01473 740415

I'm trying to find information about the parents of Jessy (Jessie) Dobby~ born Ipswich 15 June 1780. She married in London in 1802~ and she and her family emigrated to Tasmania (van Dieman's Land) in the 1810s. She died there in 1852. She is part of our family~ and despite searching all our resources in Australia~ we have not been able to dicover any more than shown here.****
