I am researching my family tree and have traced my ancestors back to the Hardings from Cambridge in Gloucestershire. Any information would be greatly received on the Hardings who appear to be linked to the Berkeley family.

I am looking for any information on my great great Grandfather** James Williams. I believe that he was born in 1799. He married a Sarah (weeb?) Eddell (b1809) and they had a daughter Mary Sarah Williams (b 1847 my great grandmother) who was living at Pockington Farm~ Purton in 1881. Mary Sarah married a 'Master Mariner' William Pidler (b 1814?? in Gatcombe Lydney??~ father named Alexander Pidler) in 1873. but there is no evidence of his being at Pockington Farm at the 1881 census A list on the Channel Pilots web site states that a James Williams was an active pilot between 1833 and 1866 and that he died on his cutter. It is not clear however if his death happened in 1866 and I can find no record of his~ death (nor that of William Pidler) The above just may be of interest and if anyone can fill in any gaps I would be grateful

Seeking any information on my GGF~ Richard CLARKE~ b.c1832~ son of John CLARKE and Eliza(beth) HANCOCK Clarke. Richard sailed to Australia~ November 1856~ arriving Moreton Bay (then NSW) February 1857. He wrote in later years~ "born Cambridge~ educated there~ worked on railways". In 1856~ he recorded on migration papers "mother Eliza dead Father John whereabouts unknown".****Any HANCOCK or CLARKE family historians here in this area with any comments or suggestions~ please.****Hoping there may be a connection to Cambridge~ Gloucestershire. I have had no luck in Cambridgeshire. My idea to seek information from ANY Cambridge is based on Richard's words~ and the connection to a railway. Richard's UK connection has been a long term Brick Wall.****Thank you.
