The ancestors of both John SWALLOW & Bruce SMITH were born in Great Munden. Bruce and I have abt 200 SWALLOW individuals held in a SWALLOW RESOURCE database~ which we manage. We and the other members of the Hertfordshire SWALLOW Forum are always seeking new contacts with the object of exchanging and improving the local SWALLOW history. My husbands g.g.g.g grandparents were John & Eliza Goodman.living at Westmill Rd. Ware. The 1841 census shows 10 children~among them Hannah who is my husbands g.g.g.grandmother. Hannah's brother Ephram~ emigrated to U.S.A~with young family in 1856. The othe names on the census are~Daniel b.1829~Easter b.1831~John b.1825~ Joseph b.1834~Rebecca b.1837~Simon b.1840 Benjm b.1836 & Stephen b.1833. I would be interested to hear if any decendants still live in the ware area~any info on the family would be appreciated Liz

I used to live in Much Hadham High street In "The Rose & Crown" pub in the 1950's. I was taken there today as a birthday suprise 30/11/2008 and i was quite emotional~ it brought back alot of lovely memories. My son & fiance thought the village was beautiful.**My parents owned the pub. I would love to hear from anybody who remembers me. Please email me.
