I am looking for information about John Edward Richardson. He married Susan Roberts in 1885 in Batley aged 22 years. The marriage certificate shows he was the son of Benjamin Richardson~ a bottle maker.****Sometime inbetween 1885 and 1891 John stole the patent to some mill machinery and fled to America (leaving his wife and young son behind) with the police hot on his heels****Any knowledge of this family or the crime comitted would be very welcome****Thank you****Lyndsey

Hi~ I am desperate to find Brian Sandford from Wakefield Yorkshire. I read a posting on your site only yesterday (but he posted it in 2004)~ he was looking for people who lived at Flanshaw Lodge Children's Home at 192 Flanshaw Lane Wakefield in the 50's. I lived there~ and am writing a book about the experience and would love to hear form Brian and anyone else who lived at the Lodge. The email Brian posted is no longer active. Hopeful!!

I am trying to obtain information (anything) on or about the "The Aire & Calder Navigation Company - Ravensthorpe". My great great grandfather~ Harry Dewhirst~ is recorded as working there in the 1911 Census as a "Horse Merien". Earlier Census Show him as "Teamster" for the same company. In 1911 he lived in Vulcan Road Dewsbury.

My great-great-grandfather Benjamin TOWNEND was born in Heckmondwike in 1823 and his parents can be found on the 1841 census (as William F and Betty) and on the 1861 census (as Willam and Elizabeth) living at 47 Flush~ Liversedge~ with the rest of the family - In 1841 there are John~ Mary~ James~ Sarah~ Ann~ Ruth~ William and Betsey and~ in 1861~ there are just Mary and Betsy still living at home - Anyone researching this same family or have any further information please?
