I live in Rittman~ Ohio USA and have been reseaching my family tree and got back to: Goodman Christmas - was born in 1616 in Preswold~ Leicestershire Co.~ England. He died in 1708 in Stafford Co.~ Virginia USA. So I was just trying to find out more on this area of England and more about my family.

My great great great granparents named Jonathan and Mary Sharpe lived in Grimstone Village according to the 1841 census~ their children were Richard~ Joseph~ Mary and George. Does anyone have any information on my ancestors.

I am looking for details of both my mothers and fathers family~ Mother was Doris Howlett born June 14th 1914 in Quorn she took my fathers name Elliott by deed. I believe my Grandfather was either James (b1886) or John H Howlett (b1883) both from Quorn~ My mother had two known and possible a third older brother names are John and Jim Howlett~ John worked on the railway and was married to Jean~ had three known children Susan now probaly in her 60's~ Sean and Tony( Both ages unknown but older than Susan) John And Jean at one time lived in**Wordsworth Road Loughbrough. I was told my grandfather was killed on a bus on his way home from first world war.**My father was William Elliott who died in late 1951 before I was born he was believed to be around 48 when he died~ he may have been a printer by trade sadly I know little else about him except he was possible born in the market Bosworth area. I am now in my 50's so would like to trace any known relatives. Thank you for reading this. Caroline Elliott

Hello~I used to live here~ was born in Albian Street No21 to be exact. My father was working in Leeds at the time( WW2) it was decided we would move there once the war ended. We finaly gave up and moved early on 15th August1945. Definatley a date to remember. My Grandfather (on mothers side) was John Mercy who lived Seagrave Road and was Works Manager of the Co-Op Botts & Shoe factory for many years.** I returned to the village a few time on day trips in recent years~ mostly to see my cousin Audrey as she was not always enjoying best of health at time. She is going to be missed by so many people. The turn out at St. Mary's was just unbelieveable and a credit the whole village. Along with Mick~ as a relative~ I would like to thank everyone for their support.

I am an ordinary mum~ living in Treuddyn~ North Wales. This is just a message to tell you that so many people are grieivng for Madeleine and are hoping and ##raying for her safe return~ to her family and to the village.****It is not possible to join with you physically for the vigil being held to pray for her safe return~ but please be assured that many~ many people will be with you in spirit~ giving our solidarity to you all at this horrendous time.****None of us can begin to contemplate the pain and despair of her family at this time. Also~ those of you who are friends of the family must be in great pain~ too. Thoguhts and love to everyone who is grieving. Let us all hope that the conscience of whoever has perpetrated this dreadful deed will be such that he / she returns Madeleine safely to where she should rightfully be.

My GtGrandfather John STEVENSON owned a farm in Walton on the Wolds about 1876 **to 1909. At his death ~ his son Thomas took over the farm but sold at a later **date. My mother spent many happy hours there as a little girl and I am **writing down her stories for my grandchildren. In June~ we will be visiting **England and would like to visit Walton on the Wolds~ to take some pictures. **Could someone tell me if this farm still exists?
